I am honoured and extremely grateful to have been awarded the 2015 ARTA Certificate/Diploma Scholarship. Growing up in a family with two parents who were teachers gave me a first-hand look at the dedication and passion that goes into our education system. Without the guidance from my parents and the encouragement from the teachers that I’ve had, especially those most recently, I would not be where I am today.
This will be my second, and last, year in the Marketing Management (Communications) Diploma program at BCIT’s School of Business. Upon graduation in 2016, however, I intend to continue in the program for an additional year to earn the Bachelor of Business Administrative Degree. After completing my studies, I plan to use my education to pursue a career in Cause Marketing.
Receiving this award not only enables me to reach the milestones that I have set, but it allows me to demonstrate that financial assistance helps achieve academic excellence. Thank you for your support and investment in my future.

I am currently completing my final year of the Marketing Management Communications Diploma at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. I am extremely grateful to ARTA for the scholarship. It will allow me to concentrate my efforts on successfully completing my diploma without having the added stress of working. The program is considered to be an intensive one, and will demand one hundred per cent of my time, which means I am unable to work during the school year. Completing my education in Marketing Communications will allow me to pursue my passion for marketing. BCIT has provided me with the invaluable opportunity to learn from industry professionals, apply the skills in relevant industry-related assignments, and exercise my creative freedom. I look forward to embarking on my career.
Thank you to ARTA, my parents, the instructors at BCIT, as well as my grandparents, Ron and Elaine Sailer, for their support.

Thank you ARTA for the generous scholarship. I am currently in my second and final year at Bow Valley College in Calgary and look forward to making a difference in the world of justice. I am specializing in the field of corrections, with the intention of someday working in parole. I strongly believe that transitioning from an institution back into society is one of the most difficult things one can face. The stigma of being an inmate creates its own set of problems. I hope to assist those going through such a transition, with the safety of that individual and our communities as the top priority. Regardless of the path one has chosen or the mistakes one has made, we are all human. This scholarship brings me one step closer to achieving my goals, big and small!
