ARTA’s Emergency Travel Insurance covers you in the event of a sudden and unexpected medical emergency while travelling abroad. Obtaining coverage is only the first step in protecting yourself, however. Before you travel, you should know what to do in case a medical emergency actually takes place.

First, you should get to a hospital immediately. As healthcare quality can vary in different parts of the world, make sure the hospital you visit offers care that is adequate to your needs. Next, have a friend or family member call AXA Assistance on your behalf within 24 hours of admission to the hospital and before any surgeries are performed.
