Bladder Research Study – Edmonton, Alberta
Researchers at the University of Alberta are looking to recruit seniors (65+ years old) in the Edmonton area who are either healthy or those who have bladder problems (ex. increased frequency of urination) to investigate how people’s ability to perform simple tasks is affected by having a full bladder.
Background of Research
Older people who have bladder problems are more likely to fall than people who do not. It is thought that it may be because the feeling of needing to pee is distracting and causes people to walk differently. This might increase their chance of falling over.
