The first volume of “ARTA Wellness” is here!

As a special initiative for 2018, ARTA prepared a Wellness Guide on Diabetes. As we age, our risk of being diagnosed with type 2
diabetes increases. This book is not just for those with a diabetes diagnosis, but for everyone. It contains information on what diabetes is, and how to mitigate the risk of it being a personal health concern in the future.

Almost one million people in Canada are living with undiagnosed diabetes

We developed this book as an essential resource; something to be kept and referenced repeatedly. We wanted it to look and feel more substantial so that it would be a welcome addition to your bookshelf.

Our Retiree Benefits Plan is able to remain competitive with reasonable premiums because of how health-conscious our members are. We hope that this Wellness Guide educates our members on what diabetes is, how they can mitigate their risk, and how they can actively manage a prediabetes or diabetes diagnosis.

If you have not received your copy and wish to get one, please contact the ARTA office.

ARTA’s work on ARTA Wellness: The Diabetes Volume connected us with the organizing committee of HEADing to 2022 – a grassroots initiative focused on raising funds for Canadian researchers that has partnered with the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, Canada, Inc. (DRIFCan). Their goal is to raise $22 million by 2022 (the 100th anniversary of insulin) to fund research to find a cure to end diabetes. Learn more by clicking the button below.
