Find out if you are eligible to be a part of ARTA. If you are applying to be a member of ARTA, and you do not wish to take part in the ARTA Benefit Plan, please fill out and submit the membership-only application form.

Regular Membership
$25 per year paid directly to ARTA
Alberta Retired Teachers/spouses who have contributed to the Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund for 5+ years

Affiliate Membership
$50 per year paid directly to ARTA
Education sector retirees who have contributed to an accredited government or provincial pension plan for 5+ years (certain criteria would apply, please contact the ARTA office for more detailed information), including:
- Teachers from other provinces and territories, living in Alberta
- Educators and support staff from Alberta universities, colleges and technical schools
- Support staff from Alberta public and separate schools
- ATA and ATRF retired employees
- Surviving spouses of the above

Affiliate Membership
$50 per year included in benefit plan premium
- Eligible retired participants who are at least 55 years of age and who must be vested in an Alberta government sponsored pension plan
- Retired employees who were members of the United Nurses of Alberta for 2+ years and who are at least 55 years of age
- Surviving spouses of the above
