Leadership
Daniel Mulloy
Daniel is the Chief Executive Officer of an association that is enjoying steady growth and is striving to achieve its goals in the areas of member services, advocacy, wellness, and organizational excellence. Daniel has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a professional background in finance, strategic planning, management, and performance measurement. Daniel has been with ARTA since 2011.
Gary Sawatzky
After working in group benefits consulting for twenty years, Gary joined ARTA to serve as Chief Operations Officer in November 2017. Gary has his certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation.
Amanda Shaw
Amanda Shaw is the Chief Integration Officer for ARTA; connecting processes, systems, and planning across departments. With a commerce degree from the University of Alberta, and a CAAP accreditation from the Institute of Communications Agencies, she has worked in a variety of industries, including marketing and operations for both private organizations and with an advertising agency. She joined ARTA in February 2017.
Scott Tywoniuk
Scott is a Chartered Professional Accountant and ARTA’s Chief Financial Officer. He has over twenty years of experience in accounting, information technology, and information systems. He joined ARTA in January 2016.
Administrative Team
Yatin Patel
A graduate from the University of Alberta, Yatin has been a registered pharmacist for over sixteen years, proudly assisting Albertans with their health and wellness goals. He enjoys time with his family and is an avid cyclist, skier, and golfer.
Kate Brown
Kate is a people-focused Human Resources professional with a Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resources Management. She is passionate about building genuine relationships and creating opportunities to elevate and empower others. In her spare time, Kate enjoys gardening and taking on new adventures with her family.
Lisa Sissons
Lisa is an experienced administrative professional who brings over fifteen years of experience in administrative roles in a variety of industries. Lisa has a diploma in Office Administration and has taken part in many continuing education opportunities since joining the workforce. Lisa joined the ARTA team in 2018.
Maria Sune-Taylor
Maria Sune-Taylor graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor of education degree and joins ARTA with over twenty-five years of experience as an elementary educator. Maria loves gardening, spending time with her family, and organizing spaces. She is very passionate about celebrating the uniqueness of others and creating experiences that promote joy.
Finance & Business Systems
Ross Hamm
Ross holds a finance degree from the University of Alberta and has over fifteen years of accounting experience in both public practice and private industry.
Roland Atkinson
Roland is married with four children and one pug. He brings with him eighteen years in the I.T. industry supporting users in all sorts of environments, from five to 100 users.
Arnie Buchholz
Arnie Buchholz has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta and a Computer Systems diploma from NAIT. Arnie maintains and improves ARTA’s information systems using experience gained from over 20 years working in Information Technology, both as a consultant and an employee in various business models.
Sera Han
Sera holds a mechanical engineering degree, but her passion for continuous learning led her to earn a degree in Computer Science from MacEwan University. With a relentless curiosity and a love for exploration, she thrives on discovering new horizons. When she is not pursuing new skills and knowledge, she enjoys travelling and indulging in gaming.
Andreea Lucaci
Andreea is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and over ten years of private sector experience. In her spare time she likes to bake cakes, spend time with her girls, and play rummy with her family.
Rebecca Lu
Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Alberta and currently holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation. With over a decade of accounting experience, Rebecca enjoys the challenge of analyzing financial data and how the field is constantly evolving. She likes trying new restaurants, traveling, and aims to adopt a new hobby each year.
Barrington Simpson
Barrington is ARTA’s Accounting Coordinator. He first joined ARTA in 2017 and has over twenty years of experience in accounting and finance. In his personal time, Barrington enjoys playing music and spending time with his family.
Danny Zheng
Danny holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from NAIT. He helped pilot the business school’s co-op program working as an accounting intern at a cancer research organization.
In the past, Danny has also held various retail jobs working with phones, electronics, and school supplies, and acted as a reseller prior to entering the workforce.
Marketing
Jennifer Hope
Jennifer graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management degree with a major in marketing. Prior to joining the ARTA marketing team in 2018, she held a variety of marketing positions in media and communications. Jennifer is a mom to two boys and enjoys staying active.
Robert Michon
Robert Michon holds degrees in English and Communications from the University of Alberta and MacEwan University. He has a background as a writer, editor, and journalist and enjoys every opportunity he gets to bring stories to life.
Virginia Quist
Virginia is a Registered Graphic Designer (RGD Canada), Certified Design Professional (DesCan) and Accredited Professional Photographer (PPOC) with a passion for creating clean, effective and interesting designs and images. She brings a sense of joy to everything she does and is always trying to better herself and enhance her skills. She loves working with others to make the world a little better.
Aaron Axline
Aaron is a technical writer and document specialist who holds certifications from Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). He has a long history as a contributor to magazines and other publications. In his free time, Aaron enjoys doing crossword puzzles, collecting vintage pencils, reading, and writing stories.
Yvette Le
Yvette holds a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting from MacEwan University as well as a Web Design and Development diploma from NAIT. She has worked for many years in client service and administration prior to joining ARTA. In her spare time, she is interested in learning different languages and loves to travel.
Brooke MacCallum
Brooke MacCallum holds a Public Relations diploma from MacEwan University. A writer at heart, Brooke pursued a career in communications to fulfill her passion for storytelling. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and spend time with her family and friends.
Jonathan Schieman
Meet Jonathan, Certified Digital Marketing Professional (Digital Marketing Institute). At ARTA, he takes charge of the online realm, specializing in digital analytics, SEO optimization, PPC ads, and content marketing. With a touch of professional flair, he crafts effective strategies that keep ARTA ahead in the digital game.
Jonathan is the ARTA Fantasy Football League Commissioner when not maintaining ARTA's online presence.
Ashley White
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. While obtaining her degree, she worked as an administrative assistant, and after spending a few years as an educator, she moved her focus fully to office administration. Ashley enjoys creating a supportive and fun atmosphere for both staff and members.
Evan Kostuik
Evan is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Alberta. At ARTA, he hopes to gain valuable industry experience in the marketing sector to complement his education. In his spare time, Evan likes to ski and hang out with his dog, Scottie.
Margaret Sadler
Margaret Sadler, after a stint as a teacher-librarian in elementary and high schools, gained a master’s degree in instructional design, at the same time polishing her editing skills. In the thirty years since as a freelance professional editor, she has enjoyed editing a wide variety of subject materials. She loves the work with news&views for its variety and appeal to her own age group.
Member Services
Lisa Sutton
Lisa is the Team Lead of Plan Administration for Member Services. She is passionate about the ARTA benefit plans and has worked as a partner of ARTA for over twelve years, through their third-party administrator. Now a full part of the ARTA team, Lisa is committed to supporting Member Services to ensure everyone has the resources required to provide ARTA’s members with the highest level of customer service.
Sudha Nair
Sudha is a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional who has over fourteen years of operational excellence in employee group benefits administration. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, holds a post-graduate diploma in Business Administration, and has obtained the full Life and Accident & Sickness License.
Dency Baiju
Dency has worked for several years in various sectors and has expertise in Administrative Function. She holds a master’s degree in Management Studies and prides herself on being an effective communicator and is passionate about customer service. In her free time, she loves to listen to light music and spend time with her family.
Rosie Borrelli
Rosie comes to ARTA with seven years of customer service experience, along with strong communication skills and an attention to detail. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration specializing in Human Resources from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Rosie prides herself on being compassionate and empathic towards everyone she encounters. In her spare time, Rosie likes to travel with her family and friends, and hike with her two goldendoodles.
Joanne Brewer
Joanne brings over twenty years of office experience in a variety of different settings. She has a diploma in Legal Office Administration and a certificate as a Medical Office Administrator. In her spare time, Joanne likes to travel and spend time with friends and family.
Vivian Luca
Vivian has over five years of experience in benefits administration and an extensive background in customer service and employee benefit plans. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree specializing in Human Resources.
Mary Adekola
Mary has been working in the customer service industry for over twenty years and thoroughly enjoys assisting clients with whatever it is they might need. When she isn't working, she enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Karen Batiuk
Karen has twenty years of experience in the areas of Benefits, Payroll, and HR Administration with specialties in Benefits Administration, Claims, and Disability Management. She looks forward to pursuing education in the Group Benefits programs. Karen also loves to travel, meet new people, and build new relationships.
Kirsten Dufour
Kirsten has extensive experience in customer service and administration. Prior to joining the team, she oversaw several reception positions that provided high-quality client service. She is passionate about travelling and spending time with her loved ones. Kirsten enjoys taking her two dogs on walks through the river valley.
Morgan Bond
Morgan has seven years of experience in customer service and administrative roles. She is excited to be at ARTA and enjoys the challenge of learning new things. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, slo-pitch, and spending time with her family and four pets.
Maryam Chaudhry
Maryam holds a bachelor of science degree, majoring in psychology and has over ten years of experience in customer service and administrative roles. She prides herself on being detail-oriented as well as her love of helping others. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Mikhayla Doroshuk
Mikhayla has nine years of customer service experience in a variety of industries. She is excited to enter the world of health benefits administration and is working towards her Group Benefits Associate designation. In her free time, Mikhayla loves to spend time outdoors with her family, friends, and her dogs.
Taylor Janzen
Manpreet Kaur
Manpreet has a diploma in accounting from NAIT and has a professional background in accounting and management stretching back more than eight years. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for her family and staying active through sports and outdoor activities.
Lisa Kruger
Lisa brings over fifteen years of administrative and customer service experience to the ARTA team. She is passionate about building customer relationships with members, and in her spare time, she enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Sydnie McCrea
With over nine years of administration and customer service under her belt, Sydnie is thrilled to bring her experience to ARTA and expand her knowledge in the world of health benefits. She is passionate about giving a voice to those who need it in this world. When she is not working, you can often find Sydnie curled up on the couch with a good book, a cup of coffee, and her cats.
Bhumi Patel
Bhumi has a background in Information Technology and over four years of experience in customer service and tech support. She is dedicated to providing thorough, solution-oriented assistance and is passionate about helping others. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, playing board games, and spending quality time with family and loved ones.
Skylor Patrick
Skylor has over six years of experience providing exceptional customer service to clients in the hearing health field, and later obtained her Hearing Technician certification to better assist those who are hearing impaired. Skylor takes pride in helping people, facing new challenges, and expanding her skillset. In her free time, she enjoys taking fitness classes, visiting farmer’s markets, and spending time with her family and dog.
Olivia Peikos
Olivia has been a licensed optician since 2012 and more recently has made the move into benefits administration. She's excited to bring her caring and empathetic nature to ARTA members. Outside of work, she loves reading and being active outdoors.
Nicole Romano-Court
Prior to her time at ARTA, Nicole worked in several mental health emergency and impatient units with Recovery Alberta. Now in an administrative role, she brings her same passion for helping people to her work, all while expanding her knowledge, and using her problem solving skills. When she isn’t working, Nicole loves spending time with her family and fur babies, reading, baking, and working out.
Anjali Sanathara
Anjali is enthusiastic about helping members. She comes to ARTA with a master’s degree in Commerce and over eight years of experience as an administrative assistant and customer service representative. She is detail-oriented and passionate about building strong customer relationships. In her spare time, she likes to cook and spend time with her family.
Chloe Williamson
Chloe has over five years of experience in tutoring and instruction, along with considerable experience in customer service. She holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of Alberta. Chloe prides herself on her strong interpersonal skills and is passionate about clear, effective communication. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with her hedgehog, Nugget.
Brooke Wolokoff
Brooke has several years of customer service experience in a variety of settings. She is constantly looking for new ways to expand her knowledge, however do not ask her to try new foods. If she’s not out with friends or family, she’s probably out spending time with her one of her multiple animals. If she’s not with her animals, she’s pointing out any animal she sees.

Mariah has over seven years of experience working in administration, and she is passionate about helping others while building genuine relationships with members. When she’s not at work, she loves to spend time outdoors, especially alongside her friends and family.
