In October 2017, President of the Alberta Retired Teachers Charitable Foundation (ARTCF) Brian Scott delivered a presentation on the foundation’s progress and presented the first major contribution to Parkinson Alberta at the Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association (ARTA) Annual General Meeting. Presidents from ARTA’s eighteen branches were in attendance and took this message home with them to their branch members.
The branches have responded with generous support, with the first cheque being presented to the foundation by Larry Lambert (president, North Eastern Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association) at the Annual General Meeting.
Four more branches stepped up at the November 2017 ARTA Board of Directors meeting and made donations to the foundation. Bonnie Bauer (president, Central East Retired Teachers’ Association), Frank Tschabold (president, Wolf Creek Retired Teachers’ Association), Joan Godbout (president, Northwestern Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association), and Denis Espetveidt (vice president, Calgary Retired Teachers’ Association) all presented cheques to Daniel Mulloy, Executive Director of ARTCF. Altogether, approximately $4,000 has been raised by the branches thus far.
We thank all of the ARTA Branches and their members for their support of the foundation.
