Lynx Air and ARTA Travel Coverage

Last week, on February 22, 2024, Lynx Air declared bankruptcy, cancelling many flights in the process. While ARTA’s Emergency Travel contract has many reimbursement provisions to protect members in the event of delays, cancellations, and interruptions, unfortunately, bankruptcy of an airline is not considered to be an eligible reason.

 

Most travelers may be able to claim the travel costs under their credit card coverage however, depending on the card. ARTA also encourages affected members to check with the Canadian Transportation Agency for resolutions to disputes they have with the airline.
